15 Fumigation Notice Samples

Nobody reads a fumigation notice for fun. People read it because a home, an office, or a warehouse is about to get sealed up and sprayed, and everyone inside that space needs a clear heads up before it happens.

Getting the wording right matters more than most folks think. A notice that’s too vague leaves people confused about when to leave and when it’s safe to come back. A notice that’s too stiff makes tenants or staff anxious for no reason. The goal is simple: state the facts, set the timeline, and give people exactly what they need to plan around it.

Below are fifteen ready-to-use fumigation notices for different settings, from apartment buildings to grain silos to hospital wings. Pick the one that fits, swap in your own dates and contact details, and send it out.

Dear Resident,

This is to inform you that Building C at Maple Grove Apartments will undergo scheduled pest fumigation on Saturday, July 18, starting at 8:00 AM. The process is expected to take until approximately 6:00 PM.

All residents must vacate their units by 7:30 AM on the day of treatment. This includes all people, pets, and plants. Food items left uncovered in cabinets should be removed or sealed in plastic bags beforehand.

You will not be able to re-enter your unit until building management gives the all clear, expected around 7:00 PM the same day. A notice will be posted at the entrance once it’s safe to return.

2. HOA Community Termite Fumigation Notice

Homeowners,

The board has approved whole-structure termite fumigation for units 14 through 22 on Birchwood Lane, scheduled for the weekend of August 8 and 9. This treatment requires the tenting of each affected home for a full 48 hours.

Homeowners in the affected units need to arrange alternate housing for both nights. Pets, plants, and anything unsealed and edible must be removed from the property before tenting begins Friday evening.

A licensed technician from Coastal Pest Solutions will supervise the process and confirm when it’s safe to remove tents and re-enter. Expect that confirmation by Sunday evening at the earliest.

Reach out to the HOA office if your unit needs a walkthrough scheduled before Friday.

3. Restaurant Closure for Fumigation Notice

A Note to Our Valued Guests

We’ll be closed for scheduled pest control fumigation on Monday, July 20. The restaurant will reopen for regular service at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21.

This treatment covers the kitchen, storage areas, and dining room, and it’s part of routine maintenance rather than a response to any specific issue. All food prep surfaces will be sanitized and inspected before we reopen.

We know this is a small inconvenience, though we’d rather handle it properly than rush the process. Thanks for your patience, and we’ll see you Tuesday.

Dear Neighbor,

This is a courtesy heads up that the house at 218 Larkspur Court is being tented for termite fumigation this Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25. A licensed crew from Guardian Pest Services will handle the setup and takedown.

You shouldn’t notice much beyond the tent itself and a work van parked out front for the two days. Pets kept outside on neighboring properties are safe, though it’s worth keeping curious dogs from sniffing too close to the tent perimeter.

The tent comes down Sunday morning, and everything should look normal again by early afternoon. Thanks for bearing with the temporary eyesore.
